LUFC Morison - Goal to get to Premier League

New Leeds United striker Steve Morison says his aim to help Leeds achieve their goal of Premier League football.

Morison signed for Leeds from Premier League side Norwich City on a three-and-a-half-year deal, in a deal that saw Luciano Becchio go the other way.

The Welsh international striker has spent the past two seasons in the Premier League with Norwich and he says the goal is to Leeds back to the top flight.

Speaking on the Leeds United official website , Morison said, "I don`t think Leeds are a million miles away from the Premiership, and the club are geared up for the Premier League.

"The goal is to get to the Premier League and I wouldn`t have gone to a club that I didn`t think could fulfil that."

The 29-year-old made his name with Stevenage where he scored 76 goals in three seasons with the Blue Square Conference side before joining Millwall in League One.

He scored 23 goals in his first season with Millwall, including in their 2-0 win at Elland Road, helping them win promotion via the play-offs.

In his first season in the championship he scored 17 goals earning him a big money move to the Premier League with newly promoted Norwich City in a deal worth just under 3 million.

He scored ten goals in his first season in the Premier League as well as his first goal for Wales.

This season he has scored just twice in 22 appearances, although just 7 have been starts.

Morison will wear the number 9 shirt for Leeds this season.
