LUFC Warnock signs for Leeds

Leeds United have signed experienced defender Stephen Warnock from Aston Villa.

The left back has signed for Leeds on a two and a half year deal.

The 31-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at championship side Bolton Wanderers, where he made 15 appearances before returning to Villa just before Christmas.

Warnock brings a wealth of experience with him to Elland Road having made over 300 career appearances with Liverpool, Bradford City, Coventry City, Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers.

He has also represented England on two occasions and he was part of the 23-man squad that travelled to South Africa for the World Cup finals in 2010, although he did not feature.

Shame some of our last managers treated him the way they did. Given the "competition" we have at left back, he should've the first name on the sheet. He'll put his shifts in for you. Good luck to the lad. All the best for the rest of the season!
