LUFC Leeds v Cardiff - Over The Years

Leeds United welcome Cardiff City to Elland Road on Saturday hoping to end a terrible winless run against the bluebirds.

Leeds have failed to win any of the last fourteen games home and away between the two sides, stretching back to the 1983/84 season when a George McCluskey goal earned Leeds all three points in a 1-0 win at Ninian Park.

McCluskey scored the only goal of the game when the two sides met again later that season, the last time Leeds won at home against Cardiff.

Despite the poor run in recent games, Leeds still have a good record at Elland Road. Out of 25 games, Leeds have won 11, drawn 7 and lost 7.

The first ever meeting between the two at Elland Road came during the 1920/21 season, when Cardiff won a Second Division clash 2-1.

Leeds enjoyed their first win at Elland Road during the 1925/26 season when they won 1-0.

Leeds biggest win came during the 1947/48 season when they won 4-0. Cardiff enjoyed their biggest win in the 2010/11 season when they won by the same margin.

Last season the sides shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Joe Mason gave Cardiff an early lead after a mistake from Darren O`Dea before Robert Snodgrass equalised for Leeds in the second half.
