LUFC Warnock not expecting new signings this week

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he does not expect to see any new arrivals at the club this week.

Warnock is still desperate to add to his squad before the window closes at the end of the month, but he admits it is unlikely that he will add to the squad this week.

Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, "We were asked to give the new owners a list of players we wanted and that is what we have done. Shaun (Harvey) is in the process of talking to the new owners and hopefully we can get one or two in.

"Shaun would tell me if he were close to bringing in a new player but at the moment, I cannot see us bringing anyone in this week.

"We have just over two weeks left of the window and I know Shaun is going to be working hard to bring one or two in."

Clubs are now halfway through the January transfer window and Leeds have so far brought in just one new face from the side that played in the first half of the season.

Ross Barkley is the only new signing, coming in from Everton on a one-month loan deal, whilst Michael Tonge and Ryan Hall, who spent time with Leeds on loan in the first half of the season, have signed permanent deals at Elland Road.

El Hadji Diouf, who was on a short-term deal in the first half of the season, has also signed on a longer-term deal.
