LUFC Warnock - Transfer window proving difficult

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock continues to be frustrated in the January transfer window despite signing Michael Tonge today.

Warnock has so far brought in Ryan Hall and Michael Tonge on full term deals since the transfer window opened at the start of the month after the pair spent time on loan at Elland Road in the first half of the season.

The Leeds boss says it is difficult to do any business when agents are telling you one thing and managers another.

Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, "I have spoken about seven or eight players and they are not for sale and despite what agents tell me, they are not available.

"They tell me they are available and they will cost me this much and when I speak to the manager, he tells me they are not for sale. That shows you just how difficult it is. Seven or eight players on my list and none are available.

"I am not saying they were our number one targets but they were on our list and we can cross them off now."

Warnock has admitted that he is desperate to add an attacking option to his side and wants players who can change games and they are proving hard to sign. "We are looking for a couple of players who can change things and mix it up and they are always the most difficult ones to get.

"We want players who can turn a game and win it for us and if we can bring those in I see no reason why we can`t push on in the second half of the season.

"We are trying to push on with our targets and seeing if we can get any over the line. You cannot just have one target because you are not always going to get that one. Shaun (Harvey) is working hard behind the scenes to try to push through the transfers we require in January."

Leeds continue to be linked with a host of players with Bradford City striker Nahki Wells the latest to be linked with a move to Elland Road.

The Bermudan international striker has grabbed the headlines in the last month after scoring for Bradford in their League Cup ties against both Arsenal and Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old has netted 16 times in 32 appearances for the Bantams this season.
