LUFC Warnock - Leeds will not sell main assets

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he expects none of the main assets to be sold in January.

Leading goalscorer Luciano Becchio along with youngsters Sam Byram and Tom Lees are being linked with Premier League moves away from Elland Road so far this transfer window and Warnock says none of them will be leaving.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "There will be nobody leaving in January unless we are in total agreement because they are the type of players we want to keep at the club."

Becchio, who has netted 19 goals this season, as just eighteen months remaining on his current deal at Elland Road.

Premier League sides Wigan Athletic and Norwich City have already been linked with a move for the Argentinian this month.

Young defenders Sam Byram and Tom Lees also seem to be catching the attention of Premier League clubs.

Byram has enjoyed a meteoric rise into the Leeds first team this season and he is the only first team squad member to have featured in every game this season.

The versatile 19-year-old is believed to be on the radar of Everton, Liverpool, Norwich City, Fulham and Southampton from the Premier League.

22-year-old Lees is now an established first team player at Elland Road. He has made 74 appearances for Leeds since making his debut at the start of last season and he earned his first England under 21 cap earlier this season.

Premier League side Aston Villa as well as Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Celtic have both been reported as interested in signing the defender this week.
