LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Dec 31st - Jan 6th

Vital Leeds United continue to keep you up to date with all the rumours doing the rounds of the possible coming and goings during the January transfer window.

After a busy first week when Leeds were linked with a host of players it has been relatively quiet since the transfer window actually opened.

Following on from the first week, Leeds are still be reported as trying to sort out a deal to bring Michael Tonge back to the club and the rumours surrounding Nottingham Forest striker Dexter Blackstock continue to mount.

Sky Sports reported at the end of the week that Leeds had actually approached Forest about the services of the striker.

The week started with Leeds once again being linked with Queens Park Rangers duo Clint Hill and Shaun Derry.

The duo were both linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer and The Sun have reported that Neil Warnock is ready to make another move for the two who played for him during his time at both Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers.

Leeds revealed themselves that they missed out on West Brom striker Chris Wood, who decided to sign for Leicester City.

Neil Warnock admitted that they could not match the offer made to him by Leicester. Shame we still do not seem to have any financial clout, despite the takeover, with Wood scoring three times in his first two games for Leicester.

The clubs coming into the race to sign youngster Sam Byram continue to grow.

Six Premier League sides have now been linked with a move for Byram with Wigan Athletic, Southampton, Fulham and Norwich City the latest clubs to be linked.

All the rumours that I put up have been in the national press, local press or websites such as Skysports.com, Clubcall.com, and Teamtalk.com amongst others and not from sites where people just put up their wish list and make out that they have inside knowledge through their best mate`s uncle`s brother.

Once again, if anybody reads anything then please let me know on the Vital Leeds forum.

This takeover is nothing more than I expected, a tin pot organisation who have no interest in forwarding the club and certainly not spending any money while teams around us show more potential. Why is it that we get a takeover like no other in existence, ie one that has no money and will not spend, why us ffs.... It's like a takeover by steptoe and son.
Only-Sleggin
Think your being a bit harsh there Only-Sleggin. Dont forget half the season has passed before they took over. I doubt they put all that time and money into buying the club just to do a bad job & not give a ****. The January transfer window is never the best & If we manage not to let any of our first team players go in this transfer window & manage to secure Tong signing. Hill to replace Tait at the end of the month & maybe a couple more then I would be happy. I suppose It might help it we could get shut of some our dead wood & free up some wages. Off the field success is just a important, they need to get their thinking caps on and start increasing the attendance and gate receipts. Having said that we have had a lot of home draws in the cup games this season plus another potential bumper crowd at home against Spurs (worth 200k with prize fund and TV money alone) if we manage to beat Brum. It will be more interesting to see what happens in the close season, after all NW contract ends after this season & we might have a better idea on how many they want to put forward then.
