LUFC Warnock hits back at critics

Neil Warnock hit back at the media in his post-match interview following the Bolton game on New Year`s Day.

Leeds beat Bolton 1-0 to bring an end to a disappointing festive period that had seen them lose at both Nottingham Forest and Hull City with unconvincing performances. Warnock came in for plenty of criticism for the first time since taking the manager`s job back in February.

Speaking to the gathered media after the game, Warnock pointed to the Leeds victories over the past six weeks and the busy schedule the side had endured.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "I look back. We beat Ipswich here, they have lost one in eight, and that was against us, Middlesbrough have lost one in twelve, who beat them? - That was us. We beat the leaders Crystal Palace, we beat Leicester City, and they scored six against Huddersfield on Tuesday.

"You get to greedy. I think the players have played brilliantly. We have just played five games in twelve days, you want miracles, you lot couldn`t work that hard."

The win over Bolton moved Leeds back to within two points of the play-off places.

Leeds now take a break from the championship this weekend as they welcome fellow championship side Birmingham City to Elland Road in the FA Cup.
