The first ever meeting between the two was a First Division encounter in the 1924/25 season, which Leeds won 2-1 thanks to goals from Russell Wainscoat and Tom Jennings.

Bolton have a good record at Elland Road in recent meetings. Bolton have lost just once in their last seven visits and have won on the last two occasions.
