LUFC Warnock delighted to secure Diouf deal

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he is delighted to secure the services of El Hadji Diouf on an 18-month deal.

Diouf agreed to the new deal at Elland Road with his short-term deal due to expire in January and Warnock says it is a massive boost to the club.

Speaking on the Official Website, Warnock said, 'We're delighted he's agreed everything and hopefully he'll enjoy the next 18 months with us.

'Obviously it's a massive boost for everyone to know we're going to have him around, and this is what we've wanted to do.

'He's a match-winning player, and there aren't many of them around. He's a player who can change a game and I'm delighted we've been able to keep him.'

'He's also fitted in really well, and he's been great with the lads.'

The former African footballer of the year originally joined Leeds on a non-contract basis back in August before agreeing to a short-term deal at the club.

The 31 year old has been involved in all bar one of Leeds games so far this season and he has quickly become a fans favourite despite plenty of sceptics at the time of his arrival.

He has also chipped in with five goals for the club including a match winning double in the 3-2 win at Bristol City back in September.
