LUFC Thomas expected to be back on Saturday

LUFC Thomas expected to be back on Saturday

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he decided not to risk Jerome Thomas ahead of a busy period of games over the next three weeks.

Thomas played no part in the Leeds defeat at Derby County on Saturday.

The on loan winger picked up a hamstring injury in the win at Huddersfield Town last weekend and Warnock says he did not want to take any risks ahead of three home games next week.

Leeds start a run of three home games against Ipswich Town next Saturday and Warnock says he expects Thomas to be back in time for this game.

Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, "He should be all right for next week. He was just a bit tight and we did not want to risk him.

"We did not want to jeopardise anything with three home games coming up in a week. We decided to keep him in wraps."

Thomas signed for Leeds on loan from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion on the final day of the loan transfer window.

The winger, who hadn`t started a game for the baggies this season before his move to Elland Road, started three games in a week, helping the side to three wins.

Leeds have a busy period before Thomas is due to return to West Brom after the game with Bolton Wanderers on New Years Day.

They face a run of six games in seventeen days, which includes the mouth-watering Capital One Cup quarter-final against Chelsea at Elland Road

Thomas is eligible for this game having not played in the competition this season.
