LUFC Leeds Loan Watch

Vital Leeds looks at how the Leeds United loan players did over the weekend whilst they are away from the club.

Leeds now have seven players out on loan.

Zac Thompson - Bury
Thompson played the 90 minutes for Bury as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by League Two side Southend United in the FA Cup.

The 19 year old has now made eight appearances for Bury since joining them on loan in October.

Robbie Rogers - Stevenage
The American international had the weekend off with Stevenage losing in the first round of the FA Cup last month.

Paul Rachubka - Accrington Stanley
The goalkeeper was a late emergency loan signing for Stanley for their home FA Cup clash with Oxford after regular goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin was injured.

Rachubka played the 90 minutes for Stanley as the game sprung to life in the final ten minutes with the game at 1-1. Stanley twice went ahead in the final ten minutes, including taking the lead in injury time but they will have to do it all again at the Kassam Stadium in ten day`s time, after Oxford equalised in the third minute of injury time for a 3-3 draw.

Rachubka has joined Stanley on a one-week loan deal

Alex Cairns - Stalybridge Celtic
Cairns played the 90 minutes for Celtic as they went down to a last minute goal in a 1-0 home defeat to Vauxhall Motors.

The 19 year old has now made 19 appearances for Celtic since joining them in August, keeping 5 clean sheets.

Ross Killock - Alfreton Town
Killock returned to the side and played the 90 minutes with a custom made gum shield in for the first time after losing a tooth and having a couple more knocked loose in a recent game at Hyde.

The youngster got the chance to shine in front of the live ESPN cameras in their FA Cup tie with Leyton Orient but the League One side ran out comfortable 4-2 winners despite Alfreton taking a shock early lead.

Lewis Turner - Harrogate Town
He is still waiting to make his debut for Harrogate after joining them on loan last month. Lewis was once again left out of the squad as Harrogate drew 1-1 at home with Hastings in the FA Cup. The winners of the replay have landed a trip to Championship side Middlesbrough in round three.

Fellow Leeds player Ross Killock had one eye on the game with his older brother Shane starting in the defence for Harrogate.

Nathan Turner - Chester FC
Left Leeds to join Chester on the same day as his twin brother Lewis and he is also still waiting for his first game after being left out of the squad as they beat Worcester City 4-2 in the Blue Square Conference South Division.

the whole idea of sending our youth out is to get some games under their belt?! seems odd you'd bring in a loan player to not play them? what a waste...
