LUFC Tate - I have come here to play games

New Leeds United signing Alan Tate says he has joined Leeds to play games after a frustrating time at Swansea City.

Tate has joined Leeds from Swansea City on loan until January and he says it is great to have the opportunity to get regular first team football.

Having captained Swansea to promotion from the championship via the play-offs in 2011, he has made just eleven appearances in the Premier League.

Tate is now looking forward to the chance of first team football and thinking about his future after ten years with the South Wales club.
Speaking on LUTV, Tate said, "I want to play games of football. I don`t want to go and watch games, even if it is in the Premier League. Playing games is more important to me, and thinking about my own future.

"All I was doing was watching games and it is not what I am about it isn`t the type of person I am. To come away and get games, especially for a club like Leeds will be great and who knows from there."

The 30 year old only signed a new four-year deal at the Liberty Stadium in September 2011 but he has suffered a frustrating time following a freak accident that saw him break his leg in a golf buggy accident in the opening month of last season.

He returned in March and he made just four appearances before the end of the season.

This season under new boss Michael Laudrup he has once again struggled to gain a regular place in the side and he has made just four appearances, with the last of these coming against Everton in September.

Tate has been training with the squad on Thursday and he will be amongst the squad for the game with Crystal Palace on Saturday.
