LUFC Leeds v Crystal Palace Over The Years

LUFC Leeds v Crystal Palace Over The Years

Vital Leeds looks at the head-to-head record against Crystal Palace at Elland Road over the years.

Leeds welcome Crystal Palace to Elland Road on Saturday in what will be the thirty-second meeting between the two at Leeds.

Leeds have much the better record in the previous thirty one encounters, winning twenty-one, drawing four and losing six.

The first ever meeting was a Second Division encounter during the 1921/22 season when the game finished goalless.

Leeds recorded their first win the following season when they won 4-1.

Palace had to wait until the 1975/76 season for their first win, when they beat Leeds 1-0 in an FA Cup clash on their way to the semi-finals, where they lost to eventual winners Southampton.

Leeds biggest win came during the 1929/30 season when they won an FA Cup encounter 8-1 with Russell Wainscoat scoring a hat trick.

Palace enjoyed their biggest win during the 1985/86 season when they left Elland Road with a 3-1 win.

They have met in the last two seasons and Leeds have come from behind to win both late on.

When they met in the 2010/11 season, two late goals from Luciano Becchio secured a 2-1 win for Leeds.

Last season, Leeds went ahead through Ross McCormack but found themselves 2-1 down with a quarter of the game remaining. Becchio scored to equalise and McCormack scored his second of the afternoon in the final ten minutes to secure the Leeds win.
The win last season makes it four in a row for Leeds since losing 1-0 in the 2005/06 season.
