Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the injury diagnosis on Rodolph Austin is better than first feared and he is now wishing him a speedy recovery.
Austin was injured early in the second half of the defeat to Watford on Saturday and early fears were that the Jamaican international had fractured his leg in two places.
Leeds had to wait for the swelling to go down enough to assess the injury, which revealed that he had cracked his ankle bone.
Speaking on the Leeds official website, Warnock said, "It`s better news than we first though. The swelling made it difficult to get a full diagnosis until Monday evening. We wish him well in his recovery and hopefully he will be back with us sooner rather than later."
The Jamaican international has missed just one game this season for Leeds having already played half a season for Norwegian top-flight side SK Brann before signing for Leeds at the start of August.
He has also been jetting off around the world representing Jamaica in their quest to reach the 2014 World Cup finals.
Leeds are now expecting Austin to face around eight weeks on the sidelines, ruling him out until the New Year.
