'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Time to give the kids a chance?

'You don't win anything with kids,' I once remember Alan Hansen saying this about those from across the Pennines in the 1990`s.

Unfortunately, they were to prove Hansen wrong but is it time for Leeds to go down the same route with the academy once again producing some quality home-grown talent.

We have already seen the impact made by Sam Byram this season.

Dominic Poleon is tearing it up in League One at Bury and he impressed when given the chance by Leeds earlier in the season.

He scored on his only Leeds start against Nottingham Forest and he has the pace and direct approach we have been crying out for all season.

Ross Killock is getting rave reviews at Alfreton Town in the Blue Square Conference Premier Division.

We also saw the inclusion of Chris Dawson on the bench for Leeds on Saturday, who is also getting rave reviews in the development squad.

So what do you think?

Should Leeds give youth a chance?

To be honest, we could hardly do any worse at the moment.

Get em in. If good enough they are old enough. They play without fear at that age and will add something we desperately need.

We MUST stop just putting Kenny in again and again no matter how bad he plays - he had some good games but now he's had a few bad ones ... time to change me thinks

We are too near the bottom for this gamble, we need to buy buy buy some quality at the back to ensure we stay in this league. We are in free fall

A good mixture of experience and youth is needed. I was surprised when Poleon got shipped out on loan especially when we were clearly lacing in pace and imagination. I think Byram, Poleon would be enough youth in the team at this present time. But I have got to admit there is nothing better than seeing young hungry players who are just breaking through bursting with pace and putting defenders on the back foot. I know Hall is 24 and not a whipper snapper, but he is still young with everything to prove. We are desperate for him to start playing full games and to see what damage he can do.
