Vital Leeds United looks at the reaction of opposition manager Gianfranco Zola after the game at Elland Road on Saturday.
Zola was a happy man after seeing his Watford side hit Leeds for six in a 6-1 win.
The two teams were level on 20 points going into the game and Zola feels the result could be a massive boost for the side, who include a number of loan players from the continent.
Speaking on the Watford official website, Zola said, "It is good to have a victory like this as it is important for morale, for the league table...for many reasons."
"Today was a very good result with good goals
"We needed a confidence boost and this game can provide this. It was massive for us."
Leeds had a couple of good early chances to take the lead. David Norris saw an effort come back off the post and Luke Varney could only shoot straight at former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia with a good goalscoring opportunity.
Watford always looked dangerous on the break and it was with a break that they took the lead close to half time.
Czech Republic international striker Matej Vydra found himself in behind the Leeds defence and he was clinical with his finish.
Leeds plight was made even more difficult on the stroke of half time when central defender Jason Pearce was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Vydra.
The dismissal of Pearce saw Leeds boss Neil Warnock replace the returning Paul Green with Tom Lees who made a quick return from an eye injury at Brighton the previous Friday.
Warnock made a double substitution at half time as he looked to get back into the game. Loan winger Ryan Hall was finally given an opportunity with 45 minutes after scoring four times for the development squad in midweek and Michael Brown was brought on to add some cover in the centre of midfield.
The game was effectively over in the opening minutes of the second half when Leeds midfielder Rodolph Austin suffered a suspected broken leg in an innocuous incident when he landed awkwardly.
The loss of Austin saw Leeds having to play most of the second half with nine men having already used their three substitutes.
Leeds did continue to try to look for a way back into the game but Watford extended their lead just past the hour when Almen Abdi beat Paddy Kenny from the edge of the area.
Abdi`s joy turned to despair within minutes when he also left the field on a stretcher after landing awkwardly on his shoulder after colliding with a teammate.
Both Austin and Abdi were taken to hospital and Zola said the injuries were the only down side to a great day for the little Italian.
"I am disappointed for Almen Abdi, who has an injury, as I am for their player. That was the only bad things about today," added Zola.
Watford extended their lead with twelve minutes remaining when Mark Yeates beat Paddy Kenny with a free kick from the edge of the area.
Leeds got a goal back with ten minutes remaining when Luke Varney was bundled over in the area by Joel Ekstrand, who could count himself lucky to stay on the field having already received a yellow card.
Michael Tonge scored from the spot for Leeds to give them renewed hope but that was quickly diminished, when Vydra once again found himself in behind the Leeds defence and his cool lob over Kenny restored the three-goal lead.
With Leeds now wishing for the game to finish as soon as possible the fourth official showed ten minutes of time added on for stoppages after lengthy delays following the injuries of Austin and Abdi.
Watford scored twice more in injury time with clinical finishes from outside the area by both Sean Murray and Troy Deeney.
The win for Watford moves them up to twelfth in the championship whilst Leeds slip to seventeenth.
