LUFC Warnock unhappy with sending off

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he feels the officials got the sending off decision wrong after Jason Pearce was shown a straight red card just before half time.

Pearce was shown a straight red by match official Trevor Kettle for a strong tackle on Watford striker Matej Vydra.

Kettle was quick to produce the red card and Warnock feels it was totally wrong and he may appeal the decision.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "Pearce is a definite yellow card but the assistants have buzzed the referee to say it was a red card and they got it wrong totally.

"He thought Pearce had gone over the top but his foot never leaves the ground. You can challenge the decision but it leaves a sour taste."

Warnock was further incensed late on in the game when Luke Varney was bundled over in the penalty area by Watford defender Joel Ekstrand with the player already on a yellow card but Kettle chose not to show a second yellow. "We get a penalty and their lads already been booked but he isn`t sent off," added Warnock.

Leeds were already trailing 3-0 at this stage and were down to nine men after Rodolph Austin was stretchered from the field with a leg injury and the side having already made their three substitutions.

Michael Tonge scored from the penalty spot for Leeds to give them hope with ten minutes remaining.

In a game that lasted 105 minutes in total, Watford scored three more goals, including two in stoppage time to see Leeds suffer their heaviest defeat of the season and the first time they had been beaten by more than one goal this season.
