LUFC Keith Ripley sadly passes away

Former Leeds United player Keith Ripley has sadly passed away at the age of 77.

Keith passed away on November 5th after suffering with Myasthenia Gravis, a muscular disorder that affects the nerves.

The versatile player who could play at half back and inside forward started his career at Elland Road as a 17 year old and he made his debut in the 1954/55 season alongside the likes of John Charles.

He spent six years at Elland Road, making 69 appearances and scoring 15 goals, his first coming against West Ham United in a 2-1 win in October 1954.

Keith eventually left Leeds in 1958 to join Norwich City but he left after just three months at Carrow Road to join Mansfield Town.

After 18 months at Mansfield, he spent two years at Peterborough United, making over 80 appearances.

He finished his professional career at Doncaster Rovers and he spent four years at Belle Vue making 128 appearances.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Keith.
