LUFC Leeds Fans View v Burnley

LUFC Leeds Fans View v Burnley

Vital Leeds contributor and Thames Valley Whites organiser Steve made the trip to Turf Moor on Tuesday night and here are his thoughts on the player`s performance.

I made the trip to Burnley on a wet Tuesday night with the Thames Valley Whites RMC and here are my views on the performance of the Leeds United players on another dismal midweek match.

Kenny 7
Consistent to the end, made some great saves but he was left all at sea for the goal against us.

Byram 5
His inexperience is starting to show and he hardly got forward to give support to any attacks. Made a few mistakes but the kid needs a rest.

Peltier 5
Just not at his best, seemed to cope with the threat in the first half then began hitting balls here there and everywhere when under the cosh in the second half.

Pearce 6
He needs to lead the back line better. Consistent over the last few games.

Drury 6
Best player in this position with the squad we have. Had a decent game and coped well with anything down the left.

White 5
Had some good possession but tended to waste it. Needs to be able to cross some dangerous balls into the box or even attack the back four and get round them.

Brown 3
Ineffective unless he is crunching somebody.

Austin 4
He can tackle but that is about it. Hit two shots from out of the box but the roof doesn't give you goals.

Tonge 4
No imagination, no pace, and gave the ball away

Diouf 7
Has the ability, shame nobody else around him does. Could have scored in the first half but the angle got the better of him.

Becchio 3
Never in the game and he was never going to score.

Subs
Varney 3

Ineffective and a waste of time.

Pugh 1
Came on for Drury and he was instantly beaten for pace down the left hand side that then allowed the cross into our box for Charlie Austin to make it 20 goals this season.

Poor poor poor after that. He played the rest of the game with his head down, as he knew he was at fault. Kept giving the ball away.

Summary
Overall, this was another typical Leeds performance, which replicates the last three games.

We are so predictable in how we set out our game plan, we have no pace and when in the final third we have nobody to inflict any sort of scoring opportunities. Burnley are no better and won this game due to a Warnock substitution.

Substitutions make no difference and we have no idea how to change the game. Warnock cannot be happy with this team and seriously needs to sort them out before the fans decide he needs to be out!!!

We need creativity and pace. Neil if you`re reading this, and Pugh, your past your sell by date, time to go!!!

Leeds fans again out in numbers and gave the team all the backing they needed but they just cannot respond to us.

Burnley fans just sang about Jimmy Saville, which is starting to get boring. Expect this now all season from the opposition fans.

Big flare up after the game. Our players, especially Pearce, targeting Charlie Austin who had to be escorted off with the Burnley playing staff.
