LUFC Can Leeds banish the midweek blues?

Leeds United are once again in championship action on Tuesday night when they make the short trip to Lancashire neighbours Burnley.

The Whites will be looking for their first championship win in five games having drawn three and lost one of their previous four games.

In their last game, they twice came from behind to claim a point at Brighton in a 2-2 draw on Friday night.

Leeds also have a shocking midweek record and it is almost twelve months since their last midweek league win and they have won only two of their last twenty-three midweek league games.

Burnley are in great form at home this season and are unbeaten in their last five at Turf Moor.

On Saturday, they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at home with Charlie Austin once again on target.

Austin has netted 19 goals already this season for Burnley and he has only failed to score in one home game this season.

Leeds have their own striker in form this season with Luciano Becchio having netted 11 goals this season. He has scored in each of his last two games, despite only coming on as a late substitute in each game.

Leeds have won on each of their two visits since returning to the championship in 2010.

In both games, Leeds trailed at half time only to hit back late in each game to claim the three points.

So what do you think?

Will Burnley continue their good home form or can Leeds keep the prolific Charlie Austin quiet and once again come away from Burnley with the three points?

Think this is going to be a toughie again on Tuesday. Charlie Austin is scoring goals for fun & he is going to be a real hand full he has 16 in the league and 3 in cup competitions so far this season. My work regularly takes me to Burnley and we chat football regularly, their only problem is that they are leaking plenty of goals as well but the vast majority they they concede are away from home. It sort of reminds me of when we had a team full of young potential couple of seasons ago and we were conceding plenty but we always seemed to score more than we let in. With Burnley been on the same points as us & results going our way at Burnley over the last couple of seasons fingers crossed I can strut into our Burnley depot with my Leeds Hi Vis vest on and a BIG cheesy grin on my face. A win will see me right COME ON LEEDS
