LUFC Warnock looking to build on cup win

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he is looking to build on the win over Southampton in midweek when they travel to Brighton and Hove Albion this evening.

Leeds have picked up just two points from their last three games, slipping back down into mid table but a win at Brighton this evening would see them move into the top six.

Warnock admits their recent league form has not been good but he is now hoping to build on the 3-0 win over Premier League Southampton.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "If you have watched our last three games, we have been terrible. We haven`t had a spark and that is why I changed things around. We have had one or two lads running on empty, that is the only way I can explain the lacklustre performances.

"We are going to try and build on the other night. I know there was a lot of tiredness after the game but we have got to get down to Brighton and give it our best shot and try and come back with a positive result."

Warnock will be hoping they can produce the results that followed their win over Everton in the last round.

Leeds travelled to Bristol City in their next game after the win at Everton, winning 3-2 and they picked up seven points from a possible nine in the three games following the cup success.

The games continue to come thick and fast. Leeds travel to Burnley on Tuesday night before they return to Elland Road for a clash with Watford on Saturday.

Leeds have already played seventeen games this season and with the cup clash with Chelsea added to the fixture list in December, they have fourteen games between now and New Years Day.
