LUFC Chelsea boss expects tough clash

Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo says he expects a tough tie at Elland Road after drawing Leeds United in the last eight of the Capital One League Cup.

Di Matteo knows the history and rivalry between the two clubs having spent six years as a player at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea boss says he knows what to expect from a side managed by Leeds Neil Warnock and he is expecting a tough clash as they battle for a place in the semi-finals.

Speaking in London24, Di Matteo said, "Neil Warnock has his style of play of football but we will have plenty of time to prepare for it.

"Leeds United is always a difficult place to play at. We have history with them."

The Chelsea boss played three times at Elland Road during his playing career, winning one, drawing one and losing one.

He has been to Elland Road on just one occasion as a manager.

He was in charge of MK Dons during the 2008/09 season when they lost 2-0 at Leeds.

The game will take place during week commencing December 17th due to Chelsea being involved in the FIFA World Club challenge in Japan the previous week when the rest of the quarter finals take place.

The game is currently scheduled for Wednesday December 19th although this is yet to be confirmed by either club.
