LUFC Can Leeds Continue Cup Run?

Leeds United take a break from the Championship on Tuesday night and are back in League Cup action against Southampton.

Leeds lost for the first time in eight games on Saturday when Birmingham City left Elland Road with all three points.

Southampton are struggling with life in the Premier League and are currently in the bottom three after another defeat on Sunday at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds have a problem with midweek games in the Championship but seem a different team in the cup competitions.

In the last round, Leeds pulled off one of the results of the round when they beat Premier League Everton 2-1.

Leeds will be looking to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since reaching the final in 1996.

The League Cup is probably a welcome distraction for Southampton and they have beaten Stevenage and Sheffield Wednesday to reach the Fourth Round stage.
