'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Leeds United Fans View v Birmingham

Tiny T gives us his usual Leeds United fans view from the games at Elland Road.

This time after the disappointing 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City.

Kenny 5
Little to do and no chance with the goal, his distribution yet again was poor.

Lees 6
Stuck to his task, but he is not a right back, couple of good crosses and solid in defence.

Peltier 6 Star man
His best game for Leeds, moved to centre half for his pace and it worked for most of the game.

Pearce 5
At fault for the goal and he was troubled by the pace of Lita and King all game.

Pugh 6
A rare appearance and he didn't let the side down.

Byram 5
Not his best game looked jaded.

Austin 5
The pick of the midfield but he needs to know when to shoot.

Norris 4
He was not at the races for most of the game.

Tonge 4
Weak and never kept to the wide left, on recent form I would not buy him.

Diouf 5
It is not all about him, his set pieces were poor, though a header nearly got the breakthrough.

Becchio 4
No quality to work off with little played into the box

Subs
White and Hall

Neither given enough time.

Summary
A slightly better performance than Tuesday but only just, but they weren't much better and it took a wonder goal to beat us.

No invention and a distinct lack of pace all-round.

Midfield non-existent as Birmingham played through and round it, leaving the defence exposed.

Too many players out of sorts and out of position, it is time for square pegs in square holes.

Yet again, Warnock left the subs with little time to change a game if they are not fit enough do not play them.

Diouf for me should have made way and bring Gray on to give Becchio someone to work with up top.

The side lacks pace and width and according to Warnock Hall is at least a full weeks training away from being ready.

Most sides in this Division have at least three decent strikers we have Becchio, with Gray as back up, it is not enough.

There are no changes that can be made that can change the way we play, so we need new blood and quickly, especially up front.

Looking forward, a Tuesday night game we are expected to lose, so we will probably win and go through

It sums up a lot of what I have said in a seperate thread. Too much messing around with the side with players playing out of position. We have too many players playing with injuries. Norris, Austin, Tonge and Peltier are all playing through injury or not yet fully fit. The bench is similar, they are either not fit or not match fit. Comes to something when you say Peltier had his best game and he scored a 6. Annoying hearing about Poleon playing so well at Bury. He gave Byram a chance and I believe Poleon should have got the same chance. He scored in his only Leeds start and he would certainly liven things up from the bench.

It may have been slightly better than Tuesday but still poor. We are going long ball all the time at the moment and we look clueless at the moment. You would think a team on an unbeaten run would have been full of confidence. Kenny 5 - He shouldn't be getting beat from 35 yards Lees 5 - He is no rightback Peltier 6- I agree, he did have his best game for Leeds Pearce 5 - Not his usual standard and was caught napping with King for the goal Pugh 5 - He did ok, he didn't know whether to stick or twist for the goal, whether to close down Lita or keep an eye on Burke. Austin 5 - Obvious he is not fully fit. He hasn't looked the same player for the last three of four games he has played. Tonge 5 - Another one who is not fully fit. Norris 4 - Another one who isn't fully fit Byram 5 - Slowly drifted out of the games and the early season promise is quickly disappearing Diouf 6 - Only player who looked capable of doing anything. Becchio 5 - Nothing to work with but he did give it a bit more effort than he has recently. Subs White and Hall - Why bother for 8 minutes!? We need players in quickly. We are still in a good position but we have no flair in the side to unlock teams. Get the takeover sorted and lets get some players in.
