LUFC Leeds Fans View v Sheffield Wednesday

LUFC Leeds Fans View v Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United fan King Billy gives us his fans view on the players performance at Sheffield Wednesday last night

Kenny 5

He was very lucky to get away with a fumble in the first half and had little to do for most of the game thanks mainly to poor shooting. He probably didn't have much of a view of their goal with a Wednesday player stood right in front of him.

Peltier 4
He lost his man for their goal and he doesn't ever fill me with much confidence.

Lees 7
Once again, the two central defenders looked solid at the back.

Pearce 7 Star Man
Like Lees, the pair did very well at the back and it is a good partnership. We just need those players around them to mark their men at set pieces.

Byram 4
He was beaten all night for pace and strength by their left winger who was a constant danger.

Austin 3
Not at the races at all and I was not surprised to see him taken off.

Tonge 6
Apart from his set pieces, I thought he offered us very little.

Brown 5
Got his customary yellow card. Time for him to have a rest and get Norris and Green back in the midfield.

White 4
He was like 'Bambi on ice,' he kept falling over all evening. Another one who didn't have the muscle to contend with the Wednesday players.

Diouf 6
He was frustrated all evening and let it be shown. I was worried he would do something stupid but good to see he kept it together. He was the only outlet who could do something with the ball.

Becchio 4
He did very little. He gave the ball away too easily when we needed someone who could hold the ball up.

Subs
Norris 7

He made a huge difference in midfield when we came on and gave us a bit of impetus.

Varney 1
On for 22 minutes and I don't think he touched the ball. He looked uninterested and I would not be surprised to see Warnock loan him out in January if he can get players in. The only player brought in this summer who hasn't delivered.

Summary
Unfortunately, everyone is talking about what went on off the pitch rather than what happened on it. There was a bad atmosphere throughout the second half and it got worse as the chants got progressively worse from both sets of fans.

Leeds fans got upset when the Wednesday fans started singing about Turkey and that is when it all kicked off in the lower tier.

The fan who went on the pitch is unforgivable and to be honest, what a 24 carat idiot. He must have the brain cells of a gnat; maybe I am being nasty to a gnat with that comment.

You shouldn't come on the pitch and you should definitely never strike someone. He has also done it in front of the watching millions where close up stills show exactly who he is. Like I say not very clever.

I expected trouble outside the ground afterwards but thankfully I saw nothing.

After so many years of trying to sort out the clubs reputation, this one incident brings it all up again. I hope he gets a very long time inside when he is caught up with (don't think that is going to be hard).

I felt sick after what happened last night and once again, I will have to get ready for the volley of abuse that will come my way from fans of other clubs.

It does worry me what will happen. Will we be docked points, away fans ban and just what will it do with a possible investor - Will they want to be associated with us after this?
