LUFC Warnock latest on McCormack and Somma

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock gave the latest injury news of strike duo Ross McCormack and Davide Somma in an interview on Yorkshire Radio.

McCormack has not featured for Leeds since chipping a bone in his ankle at Cardiff City in mid September, forcing him to miss the last six games.

Warnock said at the time that he expected the Scottish international to be out until Christmas and despite the player now walking properly again, he still feels it will be around Christmas before he returns.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "He is walking properly but he is not doing any jogging. In my own mind, if we get him back before Christmas I will be happy.

"We will know more in a couple of weeks but I don`t look too far ahead."

Somma hasn`t featured for Leeds since the final day of the 2010/11 season at Queens Park Rangers.

The South African international suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury the following pre-season that has seen him sidelined since and Warnock says he isn`t pinning his hopes of on the striker, despite stating at the start of the season that he would be back by November. "I was told when I came to the club that he would be fit in around four weeks. That was one of the reasons I didn`t sign a striker at the time, but it never materialised.

"I don`t hold my hopes on Davide, we will have to wait and see,"
added Warnock.

Despite the loss of McCormack for the last six games, Leeds have scored in all thirteen of their competitive games so far this season, their best start in 35 years.
