LUFC Lees Helps England Reach Finals

Tom Lees won his second cap for the England under 21 has they booked their place in the 2013 finals in Israel.

Defender Lees came on for striker Marvin Sordell after 62 minutes has Stuart Pearce`s side looked to close out the tie.

England booked their place in the finals with a 1-0 win in Serbia to win the play off tie 2-0 on aggregate.

England won the tie deep into stoppage time when Sunderland striker Connor Wickham scored the only goal of the game.

Former Leeds United youngster Danny Rose was then sent off in a fracas between players and staff from both teams at the final whistle. The game also saw nine bookings.

21-year-old Lees will now hope to book his place on the plane for the finals that take place in Israel between June 5th and 18th 2013.

Lees is eligible for the side despite being 22 when the finals take place, as he was under 21 when the group qualifications started in September 2011.
