LUFC Tonge suffers ligament injury
Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the club will find out more about the injury to Michael Tonge over the next 48 hours.
The on loan Stoke City midfielder was forced off in the second half after hurting his shoulder and Warnock says the early diagnosis is not as bad as first though.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "It is not as bad as I first thought. I thought he had dislocated his shoulder but it is a ligament that is damaged. We will now more in the next 48 hours.
Tonge is on loan at Elland Road until December and he has played in all seven of Leeds games since his arrival. The midfielder left Elland Road with his arm in a sling.
Leeds now have two weeks without a game, which will give Tonge time to recover.
There was better news on Saturday with Paul Green being named amongst the substitutes.
Green hasn`t featured since suffering a knee injury in the opening game of the season.
David Norris also saw his first action in eight games when he replaced Tonge. Norris hasn`t played since the draw with Blackburn Rovers at the start of September.
With no game for two weeks, Warnock will be looking for Green and Norris to be back to full fitness by the time Leeds play their next game against Sheffield Wednesday on October 19th.
