LUFC Leeds Fans view v Barnsley

LUFC Leeds Fans view v Barnsley

Tiny T gives us his usual fans view from the stands, on how the Leeds United players performed in the game with Barnsley.

Leeds won 1-0 thanks to a controversial penalty decision just before half time.

Kenny 8
A quiet game, although made two important saves at crucial times.

Byram 5
Not one of his better games, played at right back but system change had him playing wing back.

Lees 7
Solid and reliable, gave very little away,

Pearce 7
Like his partner gave away little, saw off their starting strikers.

Peltier 5
Indifferent performance, he didn't look all that comfortable at left back.

White 4
Poor game and he didn't seem switched on.

Austin 8 Star man
Tackled like a Trojan and had the only shot on target for us in the second half.

Brown 7
May be slow, but makes up for it with experience, seemed to be in the right place at the right time.

Tonge 6
Injury looked serious, just off the pace today though.

Becchio 6
Worked hard and got his customary goal. Cheeky chip with the penalty.

Diouf 7
looked a little jaded, but his first touch is quality.

Subs

Norris 6

He worked hard on his comeback.

Gray 5
Chased and harried, he needs more game time.

Summary
A game last season we would have lost. A poor game with little quality from either side.

A penalty from Becchio after a foul on Peltier settled it. 10 points out of 12 is impressive though but the break will do some of them some good.

How the Ref booked four Leeds players and allowed the same offence to go unpunished for the opposition.

White got booked for standing in front of the ball when they wanted to take it quickly. Fair enough but he was given a neck throw away the by the Barnsley player, who got nothing.

We keep on moaning about getting poor referees, this one was perhaps one of the worst.

Next up is Wednesday on a Friday night. Let us hope we push on again once the break is over.
