LUFC Cardiff v Leeds Pre-match stats

Vital Leeds looks at the stats ahead of Leeds trip to Cardiff City this afternoon.

Cardiff

Cardiff have taken maximum points from their two home games so far this season, beating both Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 and Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1.

Their only defeat at home since March was when West Ham beat them in their play-off semi-final second leg at the end of the season 2-0.

The defeat to West Ham is their only home defeat since March when Hull beat them 3-0.

Last season, Cardiff won 11, drew 7 and lost 5 of their 23 home championship games.

Only five sides scored more goals at home than Cardiff`s 37 last season.

Only Watford (33) had a worse defensive record at home than Cardiff (29) in the top half of the championship last season.

Peter Whittingham`s hat trick in the win over Wolves last time out was the first by a Cardiff player since the same player scored a hat trick in the 4-3 win at Sheffield United in the 2009/10 season.

Leeds
The whites have won one and lost one of their two away games in the championship so far this season.

Blackpool beat them 2-1 in their first away game of the season before they secured a 2-1 at Peterborough United in their last away game.

The win at Peterborough was their first away since winning 1-0 at Millwall in March, a run of five games.

The 1-0 win at Millwall was also the last time Leeds kept a clean sheet on their travels.

Last season in the championship, Leeds won 8, drew 7 and lost 8 of their 23 away games.

Only the top five in the division scored more goals than Leeds (31) away from home last season.

Luciano Becchio has netted five times so far this season for Leeds, the most by any player in the championship.

Recent away form: WLLDLW

Stat-Attack
Both last season`s meetings finished 1-1 and Leeds have now gone 13 games, home and away, since they last beat Cardiff City.

George McCluskey scored the only goal of the game for Leeds that day in a 1-0 win at Ninian Park in the 1983/84 season.

Leeds also won the home fixture that season 1-0 with McCluskey once again on target and it is the only season that Leeds have completed the double over Cardiff.

The last time Cardiff completed the double was during the 2010/11 season with a 4-0 win at Elland Road and a 2-1 win at home.
