LUFC The history of Cardiff v Leeds

Vital Leeds looks at the head-to-head record between Cardiff City and Leeds United at Cardiff ahead of the clash on Saturday.

The two sides have met on 23 previous occasions at Cardiff with the home side winning 14, Leeds 3 and 6 draws.

The first ever meeting was in the 1920/21 season when Cardiff won 1-0.

Leeds had to wait until their fourteenth visit to Ninian Park for their first success. A goal from Billy Bremner secured a 1-0 win in a FA Cup third round clash.

Leeds have lost five and drawn two on their last seven visits to Cardiff.

The last time Leeds won was back in the 1983/84 season when they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from George McCluskey.

The two sides met at Cardiff on the penultimate weekend of the season last term. Joe Mason scored for Cardiff close to half time but Luciano Becchio cancelled out his goal with seventeen minutes remaining.

Goals in this fixture are minimal with an average of just 1.91 goals per game.
