LUFC White and Ireland bow out of Euros

Aidan White won his ninth Republic of Ireland under 21 cap on Thursday night as they bowed out of the qualification for the 2013 finals in Israel.

White was substituted in injury time as Ireland lost 2-1 in Hungary to end their slim chances of topping group seven.

Ireland trailed 2-0 after just 28 minutes and despite a converted penalty by Robbie Brady five minutes before half time they could not get back into the game.

Hungary also missed a first half penalty in a game that saw nine players cautioned.

Ireland finish off their group games with a trip to Italy on Monday night who booked their place in the play offs with a 7-0 home win over Liechtenstein.

Tom Lees will meet up with the England under 21 squad today as they prepare for their winner takes all game with Belgium on Monday night.

England won 2-0 in Azerbaijan on Thursday night whilst Norway won 3-1 in Belgium.

A draw will be enough to take England through to the play offs as they have a two point lead over Norway in Group 8.

When the countries met in Norway last October England won 2-1.

The game on Monday at the B2Net stadium Chesterfield kicks off at 7pm.
