LUFC Warnock already looking at loan signings

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is already concentrating on the loan window with the summer transfer window closing at 11pm tonight.

Warnock has insisted this week that he did not envisage signing any new players before the window shut this evening and he is looking to the loan window when it opens in the first week of September to strengthen his squad.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "We are ok with the front eleven and it is the back up where we need two or three.

"We might be able to get one or two in when the loan window opens after the first week of September.

"There are the players there; it is just the affordability and whether the financial situation allows for it. We do need a couple of extra bodies in to give us an outside chance and that is what I am working on."

Warnock is still waiting for an answer from El Hadji Diouf who is still mulling over a deal offered to him by Leeds whilst still playing for the club on a non-contract basis.

The Senegal international is reported to have turned down the initial offer from Leeds, with the club offering him an improved deal in the past few days.

Warnock hasn`t been helped by not being able to move on three of the players placed on the transfer list this summer. Players moving out would free up wages being used on the players, who have no future at Leeds under Warnock and the boss admits it has proved difficult to move them on. "We haven`t been able to move anyone on either, which makes it difficult," added Warnock.

Paul Rachubka, Danny Pugh and Ramon Nunez remain at the club despite being placed on the list by Warnock.

Paul Connolly and Robbie Rogers, who have also been placed on the transfer list are currently on loan at Portsmouth and Stevenage.

Got to get this takeover sorted out over the international break. Warnock needs money for wages to strenghten the squad otherwise we will have another wasted season.

It might be just me being cynical but does anybody else think that the reason behind this long protracted debacle of a takeover is due to the fact that the new guys don't have any money either? Surely that's why they've not taken over before transfer window shuts......your thoughts.
