Steve Hodge salvages a point for Leeds late on after David Hirst had fired Sheffield Wednesday ahead.

Gordon Strachan is on target for Leeds in a 2-1 defeat. Leeds never recover after Jon Newsome scores an own goal in the opening minutes.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink scores the only goal of the game as Leeds win their first home game of the season against Blackburn Rovers 1-0.

Leeds make it two wins from two games with a 3-1 win at West Brom. Harry Kewell, Lee Bowyer and Mark Viduka are all on target against Albion.

Leeds beat West Yorkshire neighbours Huddersfield Town 1-0 in the League Cup. Over 30,000 fans turn out for the first round clash at Elland Road, with Danny Pugh scoring the only goal of the game.

Davide Somma scores on his first start for Leeds against Leicester City in the League Cup but the visitors come from behind to win 2-1.
