LUFC Diouf offered deal by Leeds

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the club have made an offer to El Hadji Diouf.

Diouf is currently at the club on a non-contract basis and he has come off the bench to appear in Leeds opening three games this season.

Warnock says the club have made him an offer this week and he is currently mulling over the offer made to him.

Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, "His representatives are still talking the Shaun (Harvey). I know we made him an offer yesterday, which he is still mulling over.

"I don`t think it is a money situation with him because he has made a lot of money over his career.

"I am telling him that this is the best club for him, because of the crowds and the stadium. Where will he get anything better than this at this stage of his life?

"I think he is enjoying every minute of it."

Diouf spent most of last season with Doncaster Rovers after having had his contract with Blackburn Rovers terminated at the end of August.

The Senegal international played 23 times for Doncaster last season having joined them towards the end of October.

The twice-African footballer of the year has spent the last ten years playing mainly in the Premier League having starred at the 2002 World Cup finals in Japan.

His form for Senegal in Japan saw him named in the best eleven players in the tournament and a big money move from French side Lens to Liverpool followed.

He has also played for Bolton, Sunderland and Blackburn as well as a short loan spell with Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish Premier League where he won the league and league cup.

Warnock will be hoping to add Diouf to his small squad with the transfer window closing in one week.
