1989
The opening home game of the 1989/90 season against Middlesbrough kicks off late, with fans being locked out of the ground. In a dramatic game, Leeds come from behind to win 2-1. Bobby Davision equalised for Leeds before a classic own goal by Gary Parkinson in injury time wins the game.
1994
Noel Whelan scores the only goal of the game against Arsenal in injury time. His long-range effort deceives David Seaman in the Gunnners goal to earn Leeds the points.
1997
Leeds lose their first game of the season when they are beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace.
1999
Liverpool leave Elland Road with the points in a 2-1 win for the visitors.
2000
Leeds qualify for the group stages of the champions League with a 1-0 second leg win in Munich. Leeds led 2-1 from the first leg and their passage was secured with the only goal of the game from Alan Smith.
2003
Leeds are beaten 2-1 at Spurs in their first away game of the season. Alan Smith gives Leeds an early lead but goals from Mauricio Taricco and Freddie Kanoute win the game for Spurs.
2005
Goals from Michael Ricketts and Fraser Richardson secure Leeds a 2-0 win over Oldham in the League Cup at Elland Road.
2008
Luciano Becchio scores his first Leeds goal in the opening minute of the game at Yeovil but they have to settle for a point as Yeovil level through Lloyd Owusu.
2011
Leeds book their place in the third round of the League Cup thanks to two good strikes from Ramon Nunez after Doncaster Rovers had taken an early lead through James Hayter.
