LUFC Warnock pleased to sort out McCormack deal

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he is pleased after Ross McCormack signed a new three-year deal with the club.

Warnock says the club have worked really hard to get the new deal sorted after McCormack turned down an initial new contract offer from the club.

Speaking on the Warnock said, 'It's been hard work, but I'm really pleased. Ross had made it clear that he wanted to be with us and Shaun Harvey has worked extremely hard to get it done. Both parties are very happy.'

Negotiations between McCormack and the club broke down earlier in the summer and with a host of Premier League and Championship reportedly interested in the striker, it looked like he would be starting the new season away from Elland Road.

With the sale of Robert Snodgrass to Norwich City recently, Warnock was desperate to hold onto last season`s leading goalscorer and said negotiations had reopened regarding a new deal.

The news on the eve of the new season will come as a huge boost to Warnock who believes the club are still short of an attacking threat after rebuilding the squad over the summer.
