LUFC Warnock looking at loan signing

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he will probably be looking to the loan market to strengthen is squad any further before the end of the transfer window.

The transfer window closes at the end of August until the New Year and Warnock says that whilst he is still looking to free up some wages by offloading players he thinks he will only be able to add a loan player to his newly assembled squad. "I am trying to offload players to give us a bit more ammunition to bring players in and we are still working on it.

"It will probably be a loan player if we manage to get anybody in before the transfer window closes.

"I cannot see the transfer fees being available but we are still trying hard to improve the squad."

Warnock has already brought in ten new players on contracts and El Hadji Diouf is currently with the club on a non-contract basis, although Warnock is hoping to sort something out in the next week.

The Leeds boss recently stated that there was no money remaining for any new players until players had left the club.

Paul Rachubka, Paul Connolly, Ramon Nunez, Danny Pugh and Robbie Rogers are all still at the club having been placed on the transfer list this summer.

Warnock is still looking for an attacking player to add to his firepower having lost Robert Snodgrass to Norwich City earlier this summer.

Leeds have been linked with West Ham striker Frederic Piquionne in recent days, with Sky Sports sources claiming the French international striker has agreed a deal to sign for Leeds.
