LUFC Pearce - We are all raring to go

Leeds United defender Jason Pearce says the players are raring to go and are looking to have a good go at promotion this season.

Pearce is one of eleven new faces in Neil Warnock`s new look squad, who will all be hoping to start against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road on Saturday.

The defender was the first player brought to the club in the summer by Warnock and he says the players all want to make a good start to the season.

Speaking on LUTV, Pearce said, "Everyone is raring to go. There are a lot of new lads here and they all want to make a good start.

"I just can`t wait to get going now in proper games. I think the gaffer has brought in the type of players he wanted, all real hard workers and we have a bit of flair as well.

"I think the gaffer is pleased although he would like to bring in a few more players to help with the squad. I think we have a good squad here. Hopefully we will be lucky with injuries and we can have a real good go this year."

Leeds will hope to start the season well with three games in the opening week.

Following Wolves at Elland Road on Saturday, there is a midweek clash at last season`s play-off final losers Blackpool, before finishing the week with a trip to Peterborough United.

In what looks a difficult opening few months of the season, the three sides all relegated from the Premier League last season will face Leeds in the opening six weeks of the season.
