LUFC Leeds v Wolves Head To Head

Vital Leeds United looks at the head to head record between Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road over the years.

Saturday will the 43rd meeting at Elland Road with Leeds having much the better record. Leeds have won 25, Wolves have won 8 and 9 have been drawn.

The first ever meeting came during the 1920/21 season when Leeds won a Second Division clash 3-0 thanks to two goals from Bob Thompson and one from Jack Lyon.

Wolves failed to score in their first four visits to Elland Road and had to wait until their eleventh visit in the 1936/37 season when they returned to Molineux with a 1-0 win.

Leeds biggest win came during both the 1973/74 season and the 2003/04 season when they won 4-1.

In 1973/74, goals from Mick Jones, Billy Bremner and two from Peter Lorimer (one penalty) kept up Leeds 100% start to the season in their fourth game.

In 2003/04, goals from Alan Smith, Dominic Matteo, James Milner and Mark Viduka secured a 4-1 win.

Wolves enjoyed their biggest win during the 1959/60 season when they won 3-0.

The last time the two sides met at Elland Road, Wolves won 1-0 thanks to a last minute goal from Jay Bothroyd during the 2006/07 season.
