LUFC Warnock - I have a side fans can get behind

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock feels he has put a squad together to get the fans going again after a disappointing 2011/12 season.

Warnock has assembled his own squad this summer bringing in ten new players as he looks to make a sustained challenge for promotion this season.

The Leeds boss is still looking to add to his squad but he feels the players he now as at the club will battle for him this season.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "We have put together a side that the fans can get behind. I looked at the players in the dressing room after training and I told them all, there is nobody I would worry about being behind or alongside me in the trenches.

"Usually you have three or four you want in front of you! Not in our dressing room, I was delighted and we are going to need them over the next nine or ten months because it is going to be a long slog."

Warnock took over at Elland Road in February after Simon Grayson was dismissed after a poor run of results.

The experienced manager quickly made it clear that he did not rate many of the players at the club at the time and he promised 'major surgery` to the squad in the summer.

Warnock released eight players and put another six on the transfer list as he started his clear out.

Having seen three of those on the transfer list in Adam Clayton, Andy O`Brien and Billy Paynter already move on, Warnock recently added Danny Pugh and Robbie Rogers to those he wished to move on.

Warnock starts the season looking for a record-breaking eighth promotion in the Football League.
