LUFC Leeds without trio in lead up to championship

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock will be missing three key squad players in the build-up to the opening game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Once again, meaningless international friendlies have been arranged for the middle of August and Warnock will be without Paul Green, Aidy White and Ross McCormack for most of the week.

McCormack has been handed a late call up By Scotland for their friendly international with Australia on Wednesday night in Edinburgh.

Paul Green and Aidy White are both away with their respective Republic of Ireland squads.

Green will make the long trip to Serbia for a friendly in Belgrade on Wednesday with the first team whilst White is in action on Tuesday in Ireland as the under 21 side face a crucial Euro 2013 qualifier against Turkey.

New signing Rodolph Austin will not be joining up with Jamaica for their friendly against El Salvador in America on Wednesday, after he asked the Jamaica football association to leave him out of the squad whilst he acclimatized to life in English football.

Whilst it is good to see Leeds players earning international recognition the timing of this round of internationals prove a problem to the club most seasons, with Leeds usually involved in the League Cup.
