Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is still hopeful that striker Ross McCormack will sign a new deal at the club.
McCormack turned down the initial offer made to him by Leeds earlier in the summer and the club and the players representatives are now back around the table renegotiating a new deal.
The 25 year old has just one year remaining on his current deal at Elland Road but Warnock is still hopeful they can come to some agreement.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "We are still not sure about Ross but we are hopeful he will sign a new contract. We are once again in talks with him."
McCormack scored his first goal of the season in Saturday`s 4-0 win over Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup.
The striker, who netted 19 times last season, scored from the penalty spot. Following his goal he went to the kop and signalled he was signing a new contract.
The Scottish international striker has been linked with a whole host of clubs during the summer from both the Premier League and the championship.
Wigan Athletic, West Ham, Huddersfield Town, Blackburn Rovers, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bristol City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace have all been linked with McCormack this summer.
Everton are the latest club rumoured to be looking at McCormack. Everton boss David Moyes was present at Leeds pre-season game with Preston North End last weekend and his assistant David Weir was in the stands for the game with Shrewsbury on Saturday.
Leeds have already lost Robert Snodgrass and Adam Clayton this summer who turned down the new deals offered to them by the club.
Aidy White did sign a new three-year deal recently after turning down the initial offer made to him earlier this summer.
