Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says the injury to Tom Lees that forced him to miss the game with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday is not serious.
Lees sat out the game with Shrewsbury after suffering a groin injury in training on Friday and Warnock says the decision to leave him out of the game was more a precaution than a serious injury.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio after the 4-0 win over Shrewsbury, Warnock said, "We had to make a change late on after Tom Lees nicked his groin.
"It is not serious; we just did not want to risk it for this game."
Lees injury gave youngster Sam Byram a chance in the first team. Lee Peltier played in the centre with Jason Pearce and Byram played in the right back position.
The 18 year old impressed during pre-season and he enjoyed an impressive senior debut for the club.
Warnock was delighted with the youngster`s home debut. "Nothing fazes him. 18,000 fans did not bother him. It looked like he had played there all his life," added Warnock.
The game saw ten players make their first senior appearances for the club after a busy summer in the transfer market.
Paddy Kenny showed why Warnock rates him so highly with an accomplished performance in goal and Luke Varney and David Norris were on target in the win.
Latest signing El Hadji Diouf came off the bench for the final fifteen minutes after signing for the club on a non-contract basis earlier in the day.
