LUFC Warnock - Pugh unlucky to be transfer listed

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says Danny Pugh is unlucky to be placed on the transfer list after announcing he is ready to listen to offers for the experienced midfielder.

Warnock placed Pugh and Robbie Rogers on the transfer list on Thursday as he is desperate to raise funds to bring in at least one attacking player before the season starts.

The 29 year old only signed for the club for a second time in January and Warnock feels that he needs to be playing regularly at his stage of his career, something the Leeds boss cannot guarantee him.

Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, "Pugh has had a great pre-season. He is just unlucky, the areas I think he is good in I don`t think he will get much of a look in. I think at his stage of his career he needs to be playing games."

Pugh joined Leeds from Stoke City last October initially on loan before completing the move in January.

The midfielder signed a two and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee reported to be in the region of £500,000.

Pugh was a regular in the Leeds side following his arrival making 33 appearances last season and he missed just three games following the arrival of Warnock in February.

Another waste of money signing from Grayson. In an ideal world he should be made to sign for Huddersfield all the dross he brought in at Leeds. When he cleared his desk at ER he should've taken his rubbish with him!

"dross", i would hardly call pugh dross, maby rachubka, but not pugh, he is a good hard working player who looked solid playing on the wing. It is a shame we have to clear him and rogers off the list, but again thanks to bates we must resign to sell to buy =\

He was rubbish in his loan spell and we still bought him. The warning signs were there.
