LUFC 'The beast' ready for the challenge

LUFC 'The beast' ready for the challenge

Rodolph Austin is looking forward to a new challenge after finally arriving at Leeds United.

The midfielder finally arrived at thorp Arch for training today after agreeing a deal with Leeds almost two weeks ago. The Jamaican international now has all the relevant paperwork and he is looking forward to helping Leeds push towards the Premier League.

Leeds fans have seen Austin in action for his former club SK Brann on the internet, since news first broke of the clubs interest in the tough tackling midfielder who is nicknamed 'the beast` for his style of play.

Fans are already likening him to a number of former midfielders who have played previously for the club and Austin says he is going to carry on as he as before, although he is aware it is a much tougher league. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Austin said, "Fans like players who play with passion, so I will just keep doing what I am doing.

It is quicker, more intense and a rougher league, so I will just have to wait and see and add up to it as soon as possible."

The experienced Jamaican international is fully aware of Leeds history and he is he wants to be part of a side that can hopefully return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004. "It is a great club, it has great fans all over and it has a great history. The club are trying to get back into the Premier League and it is the direction the club wants to go, so I want to be a part of it," added Austin.

Austin is likely to make his debut for Leeds in Tuesday night`s pre-season friendly at Burton Albion alongside fellow new signing Lee Peltier. Peltier enjoyed his first training session with the club today since arriving from Leicester City at the weekend.
