LUFC Brown up for the challenge

Michael Brown says he is up for the challenge after signing a new one-year deal with the club.

Boss Neil Warnock offered Brown a new deal at the end of last season after impressing following his arrival at the end of February.

Brown played for Warnock during their time together at Sheffield United when his form for the blades earned him a big money move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 35 year old faces strong competition in midfield this season with the arrival of Paul Green, Rodolph Austin and David Norris this summer but Brown says he is looking forward to the challenge.

Speaking on the official website, Brown said, "I'm delighted to sign the contract and get things sorted..

'The gaffer has made a lot of changes over the summer and I'm looking forward to being a part of things. There's a great spirit here and everything has gone well in pre-season.

'The gaffer has brought some good players in, and there is plenty of competition, but I'm more than up for the challenge and will hopefully play a part in a successful Leeds United side.'

Brown has been a regular in the side during pre-season, playing all six of Leeds games and he captained the side in the 5-2 win at Farsley Celtic in the opening pre-season game of the summer.
