LUFC Warnock delighted with Peltier signing

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock was delighted to sign Leicester City defender Lee Peltier and admitted he thought the right back was out of the clubs price range.

Peltier completed a three year deal at Elland Road on Saturday and Warnock was happy to finally complete the move.

Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, "I am delighted; I didn`t think we would be able to afford him if I am being honest at the start of the summer.

"When it became clear that we could have a go for him, I was pleased with how we progressed. It may have taken a little bit longer than we thought but that is what happens with negotiations. It was great to complete it. He is good strong exciting player."

Peltier moved to Leeds after just one season with Leicester. The 25 year old arrived at the King Power stadium last summer from Huddersfield Town and he was a regular for both former foxes boss Sven Goran Eriksson and Nigel Pearson, who replaced Eriksson in November.

A product of the Liverpool academy, Peltier made 47 appearances for Leicester in his one season with the club.

Leeds beat off competition from a number of clubs for the signing of the defender, who signed for Leeds for an undisclosed fee.

Peltier travelled with the squad for the game at Preston on Saturday, watching from the bench and he is expected to make his debut on Tuesday night when Leeds travel to Burton Albion for their final pre-season of the summer.

Have to admit, this summers defensive signings possibaly the best we have made since the ridsdale era, not to mention that we are actually spending money, hopefully cranie to join soon, and the splash it it all on a rw and of course a st, would be nice to have beckfords pace not to mention his lethal finish, or johnny russel from dundee, great pace, got a few tricks in his book, and can slot em away, left footed aswell so could poss play rw or upfront with maccers and have becchio play em through.
