Fabian Delph completes his move to Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
Leeds United chairman Ken Bates spoke about the clubs decision to sell Fabian Delph to Aston Villa.
Bates admitted that the club had agreed a fee with Manchester City at the weekend but City needed a week to think about the deal so Bates pulled the plug.
19-year-old Delph had apparently made it clear to the club that he wanted to play Premiership football and Bates was happy with him joining Villa who have a good record of bringing through young English talent, that was a key factor for Bates.
Bates Speaking on Yorkshire Radio at the time said, 'It`s a substantial fee, it`s a good one for a 19 year old.
We get a fee some of which has to go to Bradford City as part of a sell on, and there`s contingency built in, subject on Villa`s performance.'
With the sale of Fabian Delph complete, boss Simon Grayson reveals that he has money to spend. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Grayson said, 'I`m not going to let it burn a hole in my pocket, but it`s nice to know it`s there if I need it.'
Australian international Patrick Kisnorbo is called up by the Socceroos and will miss the Carling Cup tie with Darlington later in the month.
